Who are we?

We are the IDEA Network, a lively, inclusive, and diverse network of staff and students from the University of St Andrews and beyond! Our main objective is basic yet powerful:

To make knowledge production inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible to all people, regardless of their background, location, or culture, by engaging research institutions in high-impact open knowledge projects that bring researchers closer to communities and encourage collaboration.

Inclusive Knowledge

Production &

Access

We are passionate about engagement with open knowledge projects like Wikipedia and its sister projects, where we aim to promote diversity of voices and perspectives.

We strive to provide our members with opportunities to network, develop their skills via training, and learn more about the beauty of engaging with open knowledge projects, enabling a research culture that is inclusive and equitable for all.

Check our page on Wikipedia to explore the breadth and depth our project in bringing universities closer to communities.

The network is currently run by its co-founders, Dr Abd Alsattar Ardati, Dr Kirsty Ross, and Dr Sara Thomas.

Join us, and together let’s build a world where open knowledge production is available to everyone.
