With hands-on workshops, support, and guidance, this project is a unique opportunity to fill knowledge gaps and make knowledge accessible to all. You’ll develop new skills and contribute to a cause that promotes social equity through digital literacy.

๐ Special Highlight: Weโre thrilled to have Freddie Quek, a global digital inclusion leader and founder of the #joiningthedots initiative, joining us again, but this time in person! Freddie’s work has significantly impacted national strategies to close the digital divide, and this is a rare chance to hear his insights first-hand.
What is Digital Inclusion WikiConnect?
The project is all about fostering collaboration between staff and students at the University of St Andrews to promote digital inclusion and inclusivity through Wikipedia. Participants will create and edit articles focusing on digital poverty or topics within their expertise. This initiative is not only about expanding Wikipedia, but also about raising awareness of the digital divide, especially for marginalised communities.
Supported by the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Fund, the School of Computer Science, CS EDI Committee, and SACHI, the project is spearheaded by the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility in Open Knowledge Network (IDEA Network).
